BiographySelestine is the Finance Manager at Washington State University Global Health - Kenya (WSU GH - Kenya). She holds A Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from KCA University, Kenya. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (Kenya), and a registered member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants- Kenya (ICPAK). At WSU GH - Kenya, Selestine was the first Procurement Officer, working to rapidly establish the procurement systems for the organization from scratch. Later, she became the Finance Manager where she has worked to develop all internal tools to set up and operationalize electronic finance system at WSU GH - Kenya that are linked with the system at WSU Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health in Pullman. Before joining WSU GH - Kenya, Selestine worked as a Senior Accountant at Vet Lab Sports Club, Nairobi where she played a key role in formulation and implementation of an operational internal control system and implementing a functioning financial management system.
Personal StatementI have worked hard to ground myself in the field of accounting, finance and now international business. My personal interest in accounting and finance and business generally makes the experience a pleasure. I have always taken every opportunity to enhance my professional capabilities, believing in continuously acquiring skills to excel as an individual and to nurture upcoming finance professionals. I have a passion for the girl child and the less fortunate in the society. Other than finance I love swimming, dancing and spending time with the less fortunate in the society.

Financial and Fiscal ExpertiseSelestine is professional experienced in financial management, financial accounting and taxation. Her areas of expertise include accounting, corporate financial reporting, internal controls, payroll administration, financial analysis, and policy development. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of Accounting standards and procedures, taxation and laws regulating taxation in Kenya. At WSU-GH Kenya, she is responsible for providing day-to-day budget monitoring, financial and accounting support to the Kenya program to ensure efficient and accurate management of financial systems in compliance with the organization’s policies both locally and Internationally.
Selestine has always set herself extremely challenging goals to ensure that she makes the most of her abilities and avoid any complacency. Knowing that her achievements during her years and acquired skills will have a profound effect on her future, Selestine has continued to keep herself drive and passion to Improve humanity and contribute to making the world a better place by upholding integrity. Keeping this drive and desire at the forefront of everything she does will serve her well in today’s competitive world. Working closely with the science and research teams at WSU Global Health - Kenya has increased my desire of improving human health through proper administration of research funds.
