Lisa Jones is the laboratory manager senior at the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health. Ms. Jones analyzes fecal, feeds and environmental samples for bacteria. She also prepares bacteriological media including reagents, growth plates and biochemical testing media. She is in charge of leading proper laboratory techniques and designing and executing experiments in the lab. In addition, Ms. Jones manages and provides oversight of the laboratory operations such as logistics, ordering and equipment maintenance. She also analyzes and evaluates current research methodologies and modifies them to fit project goals. Ms. Jones travels to dairy farms in Washington, Oregon and Idaho to collect blood and fecal samples from cattle and environmental samples for bacteriologic assays. In addition, Ms. Jones assists with the preparation and maintenance of protocols for the Institutional Biosafety Committee, the Institutional Review Board, and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
