Maria Fernanda Galletti

Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Maria Galletti is a research scientist at the University of São Paulo in Brazil working in tick and pathogen interaction.

Her research is primarily in:

  • Amblyomma ticks and the Brazilian strain of Rickettsia rickettsii, the agent of Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
  • Brazil, which is considered an endemic area for the disease.
  • Defining targets for a future vaccine development through global high-throughput transcriptomes and functional studies using in vivo and in vitro models.

Dr. Galletti is an adjunct faculty member in the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health.
